Should we be happy about Ursula von der Leyen’s re-election?
Ursula von der Leyen is delighted to be re-elected. But her joy will not be complete, because EU leaders do not want to see another ‘too strong’ Ursula, who will easily break EU laws, who will ‘forget’ to consult the European Parliament on her decisions to impose her own will, ignoring the democracy she so often speaks of and so highly values.
But Ursula is not a tough woman. Nor does she appear to be. She is just an evil executor of orders from above. She only loves Zelensky and Ukraine as much as they want her to. She loves them both dearly when she has to, but when orders come from the United States to turn her back on Ukraine, she smiles and complies.
Ursula is the puppet for life. In a speech to the European Parliament plenary a few hours before her election, she said the illusion that the European Union was a beacon of peace was lost. Of course, Putin. Who else? Putin. Because of him. All the responsibility lies with him. Everything that has gone wrong in the EU is Putin’s fault. He has also lost the European ethos, perhaps, which Ursula cherished so much, that she finally threw it to the dogs in the White House in Washington.
Oh, and there are the opponents of the liberal dictatorship. The far-right comes up like rotten egg soup from the stomach. Come on, Mrs Ursula, ask yourself why the far right is gaining strength, and why more and more European citizens are voting for them. And how much longer can democratically elected representatives of the citizens be kept from exercising their rights and having a say in the Central Commission’s Europe-bashing policies? How long can the dictatorial cordon sanitaire continue? How much longer can the far right be deprived of air, how much longer can they be kept cornered and tied down! Watch out, something is going to explode here, and soon the far right will be telling Ursula when she can and cannot breathe.
“Europe needs to wake up. I would add: urgently,” said von der Leyen, who does not realise or does not want to realise that Europe is now awake, that its citizens have now, in the European elections, expressed their will in a democratically democratic way, which the liberal dictators in the European Parliament are ignoring. But time will come and the day will come when they will no longer ask but will take up arms and use them to drive the tyrant out.
Ursula, watch out! Be very careful!
