The head of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) meets with the French President’s envoy to the Horn of Africa
In a significant diplomatic meeting, Lieutenant General Dr. Suleiman Sandal, Head of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement, and his accompanying delegation met with Mr. Frederic Clavier Rifka, the French President’s envoy to the Horn of Africa. The meeting discussed the efforts made to stop the war and arrangements for forming a broad anti-war, civil front that represents all Sudanese in terms of fair representation of all regions.
The meeting also touched on the role of armed struggle in protecting civilians and humanitarian convoys, and the meeting stressed the utmost importance of this.
In a related context, the movement presented its vision of a sustainable solution and ending wars forever by establishing the Second Republic on the ruins of the First Republic, which failed to provide peace, stability, and food for the Sudanese.
The meeting touched on the progress of the Jeddah Platform. The meeting secured support for the platform, which requires a clear road map and a clearly defined mandate so that the platform can make a historic contribution to resolving this national crisis. On the other hand, the delegation explained the recent positive developments in Sudanese justice and equality and the outcomes of the extraordinary conference that will be held in Addis Ababa on August 31, 2023.
The meeting touched on the humanitarian situation in Sudan before and after the outbreak of the April 15 war and the need to intensify international efforts to increase spending on organizations working in this field, as well as working on good coordination between organizations and armed struggle forces so that the degree of aid delivery to the targeted states is improved.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing joint action and international cooperation to resolve the Sudan crisis and promote a future characterized by democracy, peace, and prosperity for all Sudanese citizens.
